Format:Finals play for the championship will consist of three days of stroke play on Friday thru Sunday (54 holes), after which the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will be determined. That is followed by a final day of 18 holes of stroke play (Monday) to determine the top eight teams that will advance to match play as well as the 72-hole individual champion. The team national champion will be determined by a match-play format that will consist of quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday, followed by the finals on Wednesday.

2023-24 Season in Review:The Longhorns started the spring slate with a T1 finish at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. They earned match play victories over then No. 5 USC, No. 10 Florida and No. 24 Arizona State. At the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, freshmanFarah O'Keefeearned co-medalist honors. In the fall Texas finished runner-up at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, where freshmanLauren Kimearned medalist honors. Both O'Keefe and Kim earned Big 12 All-Tournament Team honors as they both finished T3 at the Big 12 Championship. O'Keefe and Kim competed in the August National Women's Amateur earlier this month. The Longhorns finished in sixth place to open the season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in a field with nine of the top 13 teams in the rankings at the time. O'Keefe finished T5 in that her first collegiate event. The Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship by 12 strokes to claim their fifth title in the last seven seasons and their eighth overall. O'Keefe and Kim earned spots on the Big 12 All-Tournament team with T3 finishes. Texas finished runner-up at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional with a score of 20-under-par. Selina Liao finished T5 and Farah O'Keefe was T10 on the individual leaderboard.

Inside the Texas Squad

Farah O'Keefe, Freshman, Austin, Texas: No. 16 in latest clippd individual ranking and No. 34 in World Amateur Golf Rankings. This week Farah was named to the watch list for the WGCA Freshman of the Year. Has shot par or better in 19 of her 24 rounds this season and has had her round counted in 23 of 24 rounds. Played at the Augusta National Women's Amateur and selected to USA Palmer Cup Team. O'Keefe was the co-medalist at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and finished T3 at the Big 12 Championship and T10 at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional. O'Keefe qualified for the 2023 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.

Lauren Kim, Freshman, Surrey, BC, Canada:No. 44 in latest clippd individual ranking and No. 36 in World Amateur Golf Rankings. Has shot 13 rounds at par or better this season. Kim was the individual medalist at the Jackson T Stephens Cup and finished T3 at the Big 12 Championship. Kim qualified and played in the 2022 and 2023 U.S. Open and was the 2023 Canadian Women's Amateur Champion. Kim competed at the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur.

Cindy Hsu, Sophom*ore, Tainan City, Taiwan:No. 106 in clippd individual ranking and No. 85 in World Amateur Golf Rankings. Hsu finished T10 at the 2023 NCAA Championship and has qualified for the 2024 U.S. Open. Hsu was the individual medalist at the World Amateur Team Championship. Hsu finished T12 at the Big 12

Championship.

Selina Liao, Freshman, Tainan City, Taiwan:No. 70 in clippd individual ranking and No. 200 in World Amateur Golf Rankings. Liao finished T5 at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional and finished fourth at the Silverado Showdown. Liao has had her round counted in 15 of 18 rounds this season.

Angela Heo, Sophom*ore Murrieta, Calif.:Heo has a clippd ranking of 165 and is No. 241 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Heo led the field at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional in birdies with 15 for the week and finished T15 for the regional. Heo finished T4 in her first collegiate event last season at the Stanford Intercollegiate. Heo carded a 6-under 66 in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Championship, which is the Longhorns program record for low round in an NCAA Championship event.

Ryan Murphy named to WGCA National Coach of the Year Watch List:Texas women's golf head coach Ryan Murphy was named among the top coaches in the country with a selection to the watch list of the WGCA National Coach of the Year award this week.This season Murphy led Texas to the 2024 Big 12 Championship, their fifth in the last seven Big 12 championships. With their runner-up finish at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional Texas has qualified for the NCAA Championship for the eighth straight season. The Longhorns are one of four programs in the country that have made the last eight NCAA Championships.
